Responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of all technical items on the farm.
In order to carry out these responsibilities the Technical Manager would be required to implement a tabulated and recorded system to ensure the regular servicing and check-up of all machinery, vehicles and equipment.
WORKSHOP: All vehicles, machinery and equipment will be centrally managed out of central workshops. The workshop will be in a neat and organized, tools and equipment will be maintained at the highest level possible.
IRRIGATION: The Technical Manager will be responsible for all irrigation maintenance and good service records should be maintained.
FACTORY: Ensure maintenance in the factory is completed in a timely and efficient manner.
ELECTRICAL: The Technical Manager will be responsible for the maintenance of all electrical components within the company.
LOGISTICS: The Technical Manager will be responsible for keeping the farms supplied with necessary machinery in a timely fashion
CONTRACT ARTISANS: The Technical Manager will be responsible for the supervision of contract artisans including builders, plumbers, carpenters, etc.
Preparation of Technical Reports.
Maintain Financial Control and adhere to budgets.
Provide a technical report of the previous month. These reports will include work completed and work in progress with estimated completion dates.
Initiate purchasing procedure for required spares/consumables, and follow-up.

Ensure that all necessary protective clothing is provided to all employees taking into consideration the dangers relative to their work.
Ensure regular training in health and safety procedures.
Ensure that some of your employees are trained on fire extinguisher operation and at least at any one shift there is a trained person to handle fire accidents.
Ensure that some employees are trained on first aid and available on all shifts to confront possible delivery of first aid services.
CERTIFICATION
To ensure that all staff within the technical department are aware of the UTZ certification standard and to maintain all records to acceptable standards.
Ensure that all sprayers are operationally safe and are calibrated as per UTZ requirements.
