PURPOSE OF POSITION/ROLE
The commercial manager is a key position responsible to oversee the commercial business (technical marketing and technical support to sales team) that provide an innovative, efficient Marketing and Technical service to promote Fertilizer and other agricultural input sales in the Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda.
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Deliver superior customer and technical service.
Apply a differentiated marketing strategy to meet customer needs.
Provides Agronomic services to customers and potential customers.
Provide technical support and training to Sales Teams.
Training programs for sales staff (basic agronomy, plant nutrition and fertilizer applications) – create a groundswell which will show dividends in a short time frame
Oversee all demonstrations (establish where they are being done, the reason for the demo, define what is being measured and how it is being measured)
Develop relationships with decision makers of commercial estates for both perennial and annual cropping systems (Tea, Coffee, Sugar, Timber and Cashew industries) in Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania and Uganda and target that business with differentiated, crop specific and soil specific fertilisation programmes supported by regional blender capabilities.
Develop relationships with NGO decision makers – encourage utilization of differentiated fertilizers (which we have) to enhance production.
Candidates must have a customer service orientation
