PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The position exists to ensure value addition through development and implementation of an effective procurement strategy.
Participates in the development, sharing and implementation of the business strategies.
Reviews performance against budgets and ensures that corrective action is undertaken timeously.
Manages the Procurement Process
Manages Governance, Risk and Compliance
Manages own team ensuring increased efficiency, develop professionalism, job motivation and at the same time develop good communication and understanding with them.
Provides professional advice to management based on the results of environmental scanning.
Ensures continuous improvement of own work through modification of processes and procedures to them to contemporary thinking within own professional sphere.
Demonstrates positively the Company mission, vision, value statements, reputation, code of ethics, standards, policies and procedures internally and throughout the market place.
Champions requisite programs that enhance the company’s culture and brand image.
Builds trust relations with key partners and stakeholders and acts as a point of contact for important stakeholders.
Manages Stakeholder Relationship
Develops and implements the Company SHEQ policies and procedures in line with best practice.
Possess demonstrable skills
Allocation of resources.
Prioritising tasks to meet deadlines.
Pressure to keep up to date with relevant legislation and trends.
Report writing skills
Minimum of a Degree in Purchasing and Supply or Business Management or Construction related
Must be a member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply.
At least 5 years relevant experience in procurement and 2 years in managerial level
Computer skills such as MS Word, Excel and Power Point Presentation and computerized purchasing package.
