Our client is looking for a Deboning and Production Manager to join their company.

The position of production manager’s main responsibility is to ensure that production occurs effectively and efficiently and to meet production expectations. To ensure that the correct yields are achieved and maintained. The production and deboning manager will be in charge of all deboning, trimming, and packing of primals.

Responsibilities(including but not limited to):
Managing and operating the deboning facility’s production as cost effective as possible and maintaining production levels and targets.
Define, propose and control budgets for operational requirements and ensure execution of production plans by managing allocated resources.
Implement policies and procedures ensuring that standard operating procedures exist for all critical operations of production, maintenance and administrative.
To define and implement actions that promote the continuous improvement of processes in the deboning facility, implementing whenever necessary, technological and layout adjustments.
To manage, in a systematic way, the deboning facilities costs, particularly maintenance and production costs, analysing deviations and then defining and implementing corrective measures whenever necessary.
To define and follow all the activities in the deboning facility, identifying, whenever necessary, corrective measures.
Ensure that capital projects are completed as budgeted on time and within costs and ensuring the safety of all staff and contractors involved.
Manage stock levels of raw and subsidiary materials, taking into account the production plan.
Contribute to the promotion of the deboning facility’s image as clean, safe well managed profitable, reliable, efficient and environmentally responsible operation.
Ensure that performance improvement plans, and training plans are documented for all subordinate positions and that subordinates are trained and developed to meet the required competencies of the job on an ongoing basis.
Prepare and manage the budget in line with financial policies and procedures.
To define and implement actions that promote the continuous improvement of processes in the deboning facility, implementing whenever necessary, technological and layout adjustments.
Ensure that the management of human resources is in accordance with company practices and legislation.
Supervising staff, organising and monitoring workflow, directs and co-ordinates the activities of a group of Supervisors who supervise skilled and semi-skilled employees engaged in performing a variety of production or assembly operations.
Ensure that staff discipline is managed in accordance to company policies, procedures & code of conduct. Any breaches of discipline are immediately dealt with and correct disciplinary action is initiated.
Ensure that employee performance is managed, and performance reviews are conducted regularly. To organize staff and control the flow of goods within the deboning facility.
Responsible for the correct storage and dispatch of goods at the right time and in the right quantities.
To ensure that production targets are set and achieved and to correct any short comings with regards to quotas.
To ensure all staff are trained for their respectful positions and that work according to company rules and polices.
To ensure that the food safety management system is fully implemented in the department and adhered to.
To record and complete all production, food safety, quality and company documents for the production area.
Assist the sales team with product related issues, and to ensure that they can produce and meet our customer’s expectations.
To ensure the effective, safe and efficient handling of wholesale product.
Ensure the that the health and safety recommendations are inforced.
Responsible for ensuring that all equipment is serviced and in good condition.
Responsible for the hygiene of the deboning facility and in conjunction with the quality control.

To ensure the effective time keeping and discipline of staff.
Initiate disciplinary actions against staff who transgress.
To ensure correct storage practices are followed.
To record all storage information.
To manage the traceability of all wholesale product.
To communicate with the sales team and wholesale manager regarding sales and production targets and demands.
To attend daily, weekly, monthly annual management meetings.
To report on management reviews regarding production targets, issues and requirements.
To ensure that all FSMS documents are completed and recorded according to the procedure.
Control the flow of goods.
Manage Stock.
Ensure stock levels are sufficient.
Handle customer complaints and queries.

Required Skills
