Job Description
The technician will carry out all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities
In this role the successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out planned maintenance activities
Be responsible for making recommendations for operation improvements on site
Responding to breakdowns and call outs to our retail sites
Servicing rebuilding of compressors and pumps
Assist in plant start up and commissioning
Administration of all service activities including the administration of our job card system
Act as Health Safety and Risk Officer for the Group of Companies
Key Skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Staff Management skills
Willing to work overtime as and when required
Fluent language skills and the ability to speak English and preferably one other official language
Ability to read and interpret documents
Reliable and excellent time management skills
Strong attention to detail
Ability to work in a pressurised environment
Own reliable transport
Required Skills
Trade Test in Refrigeration
Ammonia Refrigeration Certificate
Minimum of 5 years experience in Commercial Refrigeration and Industrial Ammonia Cold Store plants
Minimum of 3 years experience in starting up of ammonia refrigeration plant and equipment
Minimum of 2 years experience in acting as Safety Officer
Registered with SAQCC GAS and an ammonia refrigeration practitioner
Good working knowledge of SANS 1047 and OHS Act
Computer knowledge of MS Office
Must reside in the Cape Town area and surrounds
